Nat'l Poetry Month No. 5

This poem was published I don't even know when - in the last few years anyway - in the Kansas City Star. A boy named Chris Morales wrote this. He was ten years old.

My Dang Dad

I have a devil dad

And here's the whole thing

He leaves me and my mom to be alone

Three years later he comes back!

I hate my dad...

I wanted to slap some sense into him,

But I also wanted to run up to him,

Hug him tight

Luckily my mama said, 'Get out of my house.'

I never saw my dopey daddy again.
