Whew.

"Go not to the elves for counsel, for they will say both yes and no." J.R.R. Tolkien, who was born on the 3rd day of January, 1892, in a green world that was changed forever in the summer of 1914.

So, we've made it through another set of holidays and here's the time when I wish I'd gotten my house strung up with lights. Ah well. Maybe for Valentine's Day. And not so by the way, I've got not one, but two brothers who share a birthday with Mr. Tolkien. One of my earliest memories is going and picking up baby Timmy, lugging him into the living room. I was four. I was not anywhere near so cute when Ronnie was born, ten years later.
