Women's History Month No. 17

Well, I have no picture of her, but here is an image of her homeland, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland.
Her name was Elizabeth Stewart Brown, the mother of William Stewart Brown, who was the father of Jacob Brown, who was the father of Eulah Claire Brown, who was the mother of Elaine Wolfe, who was the mother of me.
According to family history, Elizabeth was a milliner's apprentice, the daughter of a prosperous miller. She and her husband, Stewart Brown, came to America at the turn of the 18th & 19th centuries - oh what must that journey have been like?? - and there Elizabeth's husband died of typhus, leaving her with three young children, Jacob, Rebecca Amelia (a.k.a. Aunt Amy, who lived to be very old indeed, in Cameron, MO, where she is buried), and Katherine. Elizabeth took a second husband, a weaver named Jas. Alex. Hunter & settled with him and their children near Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Just for you to know.
