Queen Kristina Augusta of Sweden, (1626-1689), who famously gave up her throne for more meaningful pursuits - oh, what is more romantic and troubling than renunciation, I ask you? Consider this fabulously fascinating woman, a renowned scholar in her world, known as Queen Christina in ours.
